An Explosive Action-Horror
In this splatter-riffic action-horror throwback, a crew of grizzled Vietnam vets (played by a murder’s row of character actors, including Steven Lang, Fred Williamson, William Sadler, David Patrick Kelly, Martin Kove, and George Wendt) band together to protect their VFW hall from a band of drug-addled mutants out to regain their stolen stash.
Shooting on glorious celluloid, Joe Begos perfectly captures the midnight movie vibe with this post-apocalyptic riff of siege action flicks. With plenty of practical gore and a gleefully bloodthirsty tone, VFW is an adrenaline-fueled ride to hell from Fangoria’s film production banner.
